Which treatment is right for you?

At the Emmakliniek, we offer two types of procedures for terminating a pregnancy up to 13 weeks. Which procedure is right for you depends on how far along you are in your pregnancy. The ultrasound performed at the clinic is always the deciding factor in determining which procedure is possible.

It’s important to be well prepared. Read up on the treatment that’s right for your situation and bring the necessary documents and items with you to the clinic. This will depend on the treatment you’ve chosen. Children are not allowed, so please arrange childcare in advance.

Intake and Treatment

When you arrive at our clinic, we’ll first perform an ultrasound to determine how far along you are in your pregnancy. This will be followed by an initial consultation with a doctor or nurse. We’ll discuss your decision, your health, and which treatment is best for you.

The type of care that’s right for you depends on how far along you are in your pregnancy and your preferences. Sometimes you can go home right away, and other times you’ll stay for a few more hours. Our team of experienced doctors and nurses will guide you through every step and make sure you’re as comfortable as possible.

Costs

If you live in the Netherlands and have health insurance, the costs of treatment are fully covered by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. Please bring your insurance card or policy statement and a valid form of identification. If you do not have these documents, you can request an extract from the civil registry at city hall and bring it with you.

If you do not officially reside in the Netherlands and are not insured, you are responsible for the costs, which must be paid in cash before treatment.
